Blue Air é a primeira companhia aérea de Roménia que opera voos em sistema low-cost tendo um capital 100% privado romeno.
A Companhia iniciou a sua actividade no dia de 13 de Dezembro de 2004 e
opera voos internacionais de passageiros do Aeroporto Internacional
Aurel Vlaicu (situado à 10 km do centro da cidade).
A meta da companhia Blue Air é transformar o transporte aéreo num serviço acessível para todas as categorías de passageiros.
Blue Air Transporte Aéreo está autorizada para fazer voos regulares
internos e internacionais de passageiros, voos tipo charter ao pedido,
voos internacionais de passageiros tipo charter e transportes cargo.

December 2006 – New flights to Verona and Malaga
December 2006 – The Boeing 737 – 400 model joins Blue Air’s aircraft family
February 2007 – Blue Air flies to Lisbon
May 2007 – a new flight, Bacau – Barcelona
June 2007 – Introducing the new route, Bucharest- Stuttgart

October 2007 – new flights to Italy, Belgium and England

December 2007 – The 4th Boeing, 737-400 model joins Blue Air family
March 2008 – Blue Air flies to Arad, Berlin and Larnaca
May 2008 – Another Boeing 737 – 300 aircraft join Blue Air family
