1. Special protection measures

Dear Blue Air passengers, with the new coronavirus spreading all over the world, and in Italy several localities currently under quarantine, at Blue Air we are working hard to fly you to your destination in maximum safety and health conditions.

Thus, Blue Air put together a Working Group responsible for identifying and implementing the most efficient solutions to protect the health of our passengers and crews.

In this regard, Blue Air implements the following additional safety measures:

  • ● We check the correct operation of the air filtration system in airplanes in addition to the periodic revisions; HEPA air filters installed on our aircrafts have the same performance level as those used for maintaining clean air in hospital operating rooms, with an efficiency of over 99.97% and the capacity to filter out dust particles of 0.1-0.3 microns, microbes and viruses;
  • ● We ensure the sterilization, by nebulization, of all our aircrafts. The nebulizer is a fully automated device that allows no human error. It uses tested substances against bacteria, spores and viruses, which penetrate absolutely all the spaces of the aircraft. After 6 minutes of spreading the active substance, the plane becomes completely sterile.
  • ● We supplement the number of masks and the amount of disinfectant gel;
  • ● We offer alcohol wipes, necessary for disinfecting the hands when boarding the aircraft;
  • ● The crews and passengers are constantly informed about the prevention methods. In addition, we have contacted the persons in charge from the Ministry of Health, to ensure that our actions are in line with those taken by national authorities.

We consider it our responsibility to do everything we can to stop the spreading of COVID-19. It is important that you do not have to change your travel plans and rely on our ability to safely fly you to your destination.

At Blue Air, we believe that protecting the lives and health of our passengers and colleagues is essential. 2. Conditions of the flights to/from Italy

Following the decisions taken by the Romanian authorities regarding the spreading of COVID-19, we inform you that starting with March 9, 2020 and until March 23, 2020 the following measures will be in force:

  • ● All flights to and from Italy are prohibited until the 6th of April.
  • ● Passengers who are not Romanian citizens or residents and who started their journey (including the transit through other countries) in: Italy, Iran, China or South Korea are not allowed to enter Romania and are returned to their home station;
  • ● Romanian residents/citizens who started their journey (including the transit through other countries) in: Italy, Iran, China or South Korea, must fill in the Declaration form before arriving at their destination and hand it over to the border police; they will undergo quarantine or isolation process upon their arrival in Romania.

This is to inform you that - following the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transportation, Infrastructure and Communications - Blue Air has decided to cancel flights from and to Italy until and including April 05, 2020. Passengers can choose from the following options:

  • ● you can receive the amount paid for the ticket in the form of a voucher, which can be used as a reduction from the cost of future tickets/services purchased at our company, valid one year from its issuance.

Conditions for domestic flights in Italy

If your flight is on a domestic route in Italy - Blue Air has decided to offer passengers who purchase a flight ticket, with the departure date up to and including April 5, 2020, one of the following options:

  • ● the possibility to change the travel date, free of charge. Only the class difference, if any, will be applied. The change can be made directly on our website flyblueair.com
  • ● passengers can receive the amount paid for the ticket in the form of a voucher, which can be used as a reduction from the cost of future tickets/services purchased at our company, valid one year from its issuance.

These exceptions will be applied if requested until the date of the flight.

3. Conditions of the flights from/to Romania

Blue Air has decided to cancel several flights. All passengers with bookings affected by these cancellations are informed at the earliest possible date by email & sms.

Passengers can choose from the following options:

  • ● you can change, free of charge, the flight date and/or route for any of our flights.
  • ● you can receive the amount paid for the ticket in the form of a voucher, which can be used as a reduction from the cost of future tickets/services purchased at our company, valid one year from its issuance.

4. Conditions of the flights from/to Israel

The Population and Immigration Authority of Israel denies the entry to Israel of any passenger who is not an Israeli citizen or resident, except:

  • ● Passengers who have a specific entry approval from the Population and Immigration Authority or the Ministry of Health
  • ● Foreign passengers who will stay in Israel for more than 14 days and can provide the address and phone number of a person in Israel who will provide quarantine for them at home, in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli Ministry of Health.

We inform you also that following the decision of the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel - Blue Air has decided to cancel flights from and to Israel until and including March 26, 2020.

Passengers can choose from the following options:

5. Conditions of the flights from/to Cyprus

Measures announced by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Μr Nicos Anastasiades, with regard to tackling Coronavirus:

‘’A. From 1 a.m. of 15 March and for a period of 15 days in the first phase, the prohibition of entry to any citizen - regardless of nationality - who does not fall into the following categories:

  •  Cypriot citizens.
  •  Legal residents in the Republic of Cyprus.
  •  European nationals or third-country nationals working in the Republic.
  •  Nationals of countries who are in a designated diplomatic service or mission under bilateral or international conventions.
  •  Individual cases of European nationals or third-country nationals for unavoidable professional obligations, provided that the relevant authorization has been obtained from the competent Ministry.
  •  European or third country citizens attending educational institutions in the Republic of Cyprus.
  • B. As regards the crossing points between the free and the occupied areas, entry will be permitted only to persons falling into the following categories:
  •  Cypriot citizens, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
  •  Legal residents in the free areas.
  •  Nationals of countries who are in a designated diplomatic service or mission under bilateral or international conventions.

I appeal to all Cypriots to use the crossing points when absolutely necessary.’’

All flights from Bucharest to Larnaca and return, March 15, 2020 - April 5, 2020, have been canceled. There are active flights on days 1 and 6 (Monday and Saturday), which will be operated according to the schedule.

6. Conditions of the flights from/to Spain

Following the decisions taken by the Romanian authorities regarding the spreading of COVID-19, we inform you that starting with March 18th, 2020 and until April 1st, 2020 all flights to and from Spain are forbidden.

8. Conditions of the flights from/to Germany

All Non-Schengen nationals are prohibited to enter the Federal Republic of Germany by the order of the German Federal Ministry of Interior. Excepted from the travel restriction are:

1. for the reason only to return to their home:

a) citizens of the schengen associated states

b) third-country nationals who are long-term residents under the longterm residence directive and persons deriving their right to reside from other eu directives or national law or who hold national longterm visas

2. other travellers with an essential function or need, including:

a) healthcare professionals, health researchers and elderly care professionals

b) frontier workers

c) transport personnel including flight crew engaged in haulage of goods and other transport staff to the extent necessary

d) diplomats, staff of international organisations, military personnel in the exercise of their functions

e) passengers in transit

The temporary travel restriction applies from 19th March until 16 April 23:59.

11. Conditions of the flights from/to Denmark

The Danish Government has on Friday the 13th of March 2020 decided to temporarily close all Danish borders effectively from Saturday the 14th of March 2020 at 12:00 (GMT+1) This means that after this time passengers will only be allowed entry, if they are included in the following:

 

1. Danish Citizens, who can provide a Danish passport or other valid traveling document.

2. EU-Citizens with valid travelling documents living in Denmark and who can provide/present a Danish social security card. (Gult sygesikringsbevis el. Sundhedskort)

3. Third country nationals with valid travelling documents and with Danish residence permit

4. Foreigners who have a valid purpose in Denmark, (e.g.)

- Visiting a critically or terminal ill family member

- Participating in a funeral

- Called for a court case

- Exercising visitation rights with a minor

- Being a legal guardian for a minor

- Already in an ongoing health treatment

- Have employment in Denmark – documentation needed

- Passengers in transit or with connecting flights, and who can provide/present valid ticket for next destination which must be non-domestic.

- Passengers who can provide documentation for having their vehicle parked at Copenhagen Airport, and who need the vehicle for their ongoing journey out of Denmark (e.g. to Sweden)

These regulations, bullits 1-4, applies for all passengers arriving from a Schengen or a nonSchengen destination. 

All passengers who do not apply to the above, 1-4, will be refused entry. The above does not include domestic flights and flights from Faroe Islands and Greenland.

 

All flights from Bucharest to Copenhagen and back, March 17, 2020 - April 13, 2020, were cancelled.

12. Conditions of the flights from/to Finland

13. Conditions of the flights from/to Norway

The Norwegian Government has decided that, starting on March 12, 2020, all persons, passengers and crews entering the country will automatically undergo a 14-day quarantine process. Exceptions are passengers arriving from the Nordic countries.

All flights from Bucharest to Oslo and return, March 16, 2020 - April 14, 2020, have been cancelled.
